Story tho might be my favorite for I am a HUGE sucker for Macross and Eureka Seven.

And from 2 onward, they allowed the action to go full Anime with Blast Counters and one-on-one boss fights against other pilots. And the fact that you have to do certain dungeons as the pilot himself makes this a real good marriage between top down adventure schmup action and side scrolling Combat that Inti made a name for itself with from Megaman Zero.

Overall great series really fun to blast through. Still all that said I think it was a very satisfying conclusion to the story of Jason and Eve. It’s a minor issue but I always like having a clean map when I’m done. Also temporary upgrades would stay listed on the map and it made it look like I had a bunch of stuff I missed. The whole hyper dimensional space gimmick they added it made map navigation a bit unwieldy. I think if I had to place it it would be my least favorite by a hair. Zero 3 was a good conclusion to the series. I think it has the best story of the three and I like the feeling of exploring through space. Zero 2 is my personal favorite the map is a bit more disconnected compared to the first game but the dungeon layouts are still really good. I say the only real problem is the boss fights are really easy and don’t require much thought I didn’t even realize it was a remake until after I beat it.
